Brief

Working with Sheppard Robson and local delivery architects, we redesigned an office building in central Geneva with a new ground floor retail unit and a new entrance to the retail complex.

The design had to meet Geneva’s strict fire codes and respect the building’s history.

Response

The new façade is tighter at the base and opens up towards the top, giving the building a stronger presence on the street.

We built fire brigade access into the façade design. Working with a local façade supplier, we refined the details to make the most of the existing structure.

The retail unit and entrance are designed as part of the building rather than as add-ons, linking the offices above with the shops below.
