This project was for Redefine Hotels in Reading to develop a new hotel in the car park of the existing Crowne Plaza hotel. Located just outside the town centre and near the River Thames, the proposal was for a 132 room building with associated ground floor front of house space. The site itself is a good location with nearby taxi and bus services to the railway station.
The project was created using modular construction methods and a prefabricated facade, thus solving the potential impact of a build on neighbouring property through reduced on-site work and using innovative engineering solutions.
This modular system is a series of interconnected modularised steel frames, manufactured off-site to approved standards and a high level of dimensional tolerance.
