Brief

As part of our strategic review of the IQ portfolio, we found ways to add rooms at IQ Brighton and to convert under-used spaces.

Response

  • Gained consent for additional student rooms, converting undersized and under-used games rooms.
  • Moved and reconfigured the entrance to give level access, with a new platform lift linking the two cores so the whole building is accessible.
  • Rebranded the spaces and upgraded the reception, with a new ground floor amenity space, games room and communal area.
  • Created a flow from the entrance to the rear gardens, bringing a previously under-used space into use.
  • Added private dining, so the building offers the full service modern students expect.
