Pioneering Carbon/Energy + waste development

We are delighted to announce that we have won approval to build a carbon and energy positive, zero waste housing scheme in East London. This nine-home project behind Orford Road, Walthamstow, is being billed as a ‘pioneering’ new pilot scheme ahead of a wider programme rollout.

Michael Lynas expressed his delight in an interview with Architects’ Journal, saying “Our vision for Orford Mews was to create a high-quality, efficient design framework that would result in a truly sustainable development.”

A series of design choices have been carefully though-out and will be incorporated into the project to accomplish this goal.

We set out to develop one of the most sustainable projects in the world, if we can achieve carbon and energy positive, zero waste aspirations on this small, constrained site, it could be viably rolled out across any development site.
