RESIDENTIAL
This project was designed to be fully modular using a component-based design. The form is a series of interconnected blocks. Modular design is best suited to modernism/conceptual design rather than more traditional approaches. The base block is overlocked by a top piece which interlinks to form the entrance. The streetscape is addressed with the student social space which creates activity along the spine road entrance to the development.
The scheme is designed with modular cores, lift, and staircase. The plant room is designed as a packaged plant room and the social space is open plan but on the modular grid to reduce transfers zones. The windows are within the modules while two options have been developed, one factory fitted, and one site fixed option.
